After a rather UNHELPFUL trip to the bank Genie, Docie, Jenny and I went on an amazing adventure by an amazing horseless carriage driven by an amazing driver (my amazing father) to the amazing Three Kings Reserve where we Rocked the Park!
The (amazing) first band to play was the Midnight Youth who are REALLY good live and now I’m even contemplating actually paying to see them play. Their lead guitarist (your classic skinny white guy) was SUPER GOOD. There were all these teenie girls in front who went spaz (but not international-band-spazz) when they started to play The Letter {which is like one of the best songs released by a Kiwi band EVER[!]}… and I was fully acting like a retard mocking them. Teenage girls are so fun to mock. How could I have been that stupid… We got their autographs too which was pretty mean (the band not the girls).
We then brought an H2Go bottle and got our pictures taken by the H2Go Spotters so one of us (excluding Docie who isn’t over 16) might win $10,000. We actually chased them with our bottle… yes we brought one between us and took turns sneaking up on the Spotters so they didn’t know we were cheap.
We watched some band with the ex-lead singer of the Exponents when they did the classic Why Does Love Do This To Me… it was so awesome to hear everyone singing along.
We took a walk and I got something to eat. So we missed watching Pluto, but I’m gald we did cos I was getting hungry and wasn’t going to pay $3.50 for a pot of chips.
We headed back in time to watch Autozamm play and I was very pleased that they played Closer to Home and Killer Shoes
While we were watching the band this Maori lady was talking to us (who may or may not have been drunk) and we watched the middle aged guy in a blue button-up shirt (who looked kinda like Dominique from the France trip) dance really spassticly (Docie was pissing herself watching him)… along with other concert-crowd characters like the young-long-haired-shirtless-guy and his friend old-long-haired-shirtless-guy as well as the covered-my-shirt-in-free-stickers-guys.
The whole thing was sponsered by V and put on by The Rock radio station. WOOT! T’was an amazing afternoon.
