The Aquarium Theory

I’m currently watching Cinderfella and wondering how someone can put up with so much crap. And really wondering if Jerry Lewis passed as attractive during the 60s.

This is not why I’m writing this blog post. I’m writing this to share with you a thought I had while staring at a tank of tropical fish at Pets Wonderland in Mid Valley yesterday. So, as I was staring at the rich colours of the different fish and the delicate patterns and the way the live coral slowly swayed I thought about how sad it is that their lives are spent in the one small tank and that they never get to truly explore the world to which they truly belong. If one of the fish ever had a desire to go out and discover what an amazing world it were missing out on it would be pretty perilous and it would surely die (and so decrease the overall value of the tank and its contents.) But then I thought about how many people live their lives in one “tank” and never explore what an a truly amazing world it is. People, who have the not only the opportunity but also the means to go out and really explore and discover but never do, really confuse me. Why not broaden your horizons and share a little bit of someone else’s world?
