ROUND!

We had our very last end of year prize giving as a Yr 13 at school last night. It was pretty good because I knew everyone that won an award (nah duh). AND for the first time we had a Proxime Accessit and a Dux… which went to Edbert Wong and Julie Kang respectively, both of them are SOOOOOOOO brainy and are both Chinese-Malaysian (REPRESENT!). I also got All Rounder which is something that I really wanted to get after prizegiving in Yr 11 and I got all inspired to try really hard after Melody won it. Becca made a bet with me to see who could get it in Yr 12. Well, neither of us won it, it went to Kelly and Pippa jointly. But I got it this year and I felt like I’d accomplished a forgotten goal without even thinking about it… which is pretty awesome. AND of course I’m MEGA stoked that I got it…

My thoughts on the high school: My experience of high school has been like eating a really big bowl of cereal. You look at the cereal and go… man, I’m never going to finish this, but you’re really hungry and excited because it’s a type of cereal that you’ve never tried before. At first you have to get into the cereal to be able to truly appreciate the flavour and texture but by the time you do, the bowl is almost empty. While eating this big bowl of cereal you’re surpirsed by the bits of yoghurt covered raisins and the awesome dried cranberries but of course there are the bits in the cereal that make you think about just throwing the last of it away however you realise that you have to finish eating it or you’ll regret it later because you won’t be full. Throughout this time you grow and expand and of course all too soon you wish you had eaten it slower and fully appreciated all of the new textures and flavours that you discovered but sadly you are at the bottom of the bowl with nothing but the soggy dregs of flake at the bottom but have a full and happy stomach as evidence to the once giant bowl of cereal.
