The School Ball

The school ball was so awesome and definately a night to remember mainly because it was my first ball but also because it was heaps of fun.

So like I described in my post the other day I got my hair and make up done as well as getting the lastest Harry Potter book Saturday morning. The getting ready bit wasn’t how I imagined it, it wasn’t as fun because one: it was raining, two: the guy didn’t do my hair the way I wanted it (but it still was very awesome) and three: my dress was too loose and the double-sided stickytape wasn’t working making getting changed a pain ( luckily I got a safety pin which held me together for the rest of the night). It took way longer than expected to get changed, I thought it would have taken like half an hour max and instead took me and Kuljeet (’cos I got changed at Kuljeet’s house) almost an hour. I can’t even remember why it took so long, I think it was trying to get the stickytape to stick.

After that me and Kuljeet were dropped of at Ludwig’s Pre-Ball, half an hour late, where we found the house bursting at the seams full of fellow ball-goers and their parents armed with cameras. The food there was so good, better than at the ball. I don’t know if it was better or if I was just more hungry. Either way I stuffed my face, ignoring my lip-gloss and the cameras that were watching me pig-out. After finding my friends in the crowd, grabbing a drink and taking a couple of photos I met Paula for the first time. Yay, she’s really nice and has perfect English. She was so tired… and cold. After photos including a huge group photo the limos arrived and I got to sit in the one that wasn’t squashed!

The ride there wasn’t very eventful but by that time we were feeling very glam sitting in a limo after having people take a million pictures of us at the same time looking hot. We got there with out fleet and there weren’t many people but that’s ok. We got to the “holding bay” where there were drinks which for some reason I picked up and started drinking even though I wasn’t thirsty or hungry. We waited in line and took a couple of photos which can be seen here: http://71.18.119.45/cpg1412/thumbnails.php?album=5&page=7 The first couple are of a combination of Felix, Vanessa, Rebecca, Mona and me. There are some better ones of http://hs.facebook.com/profile.php?id=514947938 I would direct you to Ludwig’s proper Flickr account except I can’t remember the url.

We were then let into the dining room, which just being picky, wasn’t that great. Ok, it was the second best dining area I had the pleasure of eating at but it was nothing compared to my aunty’s wedding dinner which was absolutely amazing. Anyway, we finally found a table and sat down waiting for something to happen and nothing did so we had a bit of a dance dance before dinner. Then we had dinner which was a buffet. The sad bit was that we couldn’t see what we were going to be eating ‘cos there weren’t any lights above the food and it was a guess as to what each dish was. It was pretty good though but I did enjoy the pre-ball food better and I didn’t really eat much because I had too much to eat previously and didn’t want to look fat on my ball night… hahaha… I’m just kidding.

We danced the night away (after dessert) ditching the highheels half way through the night as the pain was unbearable. Prizes were given away as follows (if I remember correctly.) Prince: Reeves, Princess: Diksha, Queen: Tenielle, King: Tom… Spot Prizes: Lisa, Caisey and someone else. Then we danced some more and even did the Dance Dance Dance when it came on. I was so tired by the end of the night and felt like sleeping except I knew I wasn’t going to.

We got to Zak’s house where I had a shower immediately… After I was cleaned I went back downstairs and found some more yum as food and we started to play Buzz sports edition which was completely lame and I ended up not finishing the game. We played SceneIt? which is an interactive DVD game-thing and it was fun and my team totally kicked-butt! I can’t really remember what we did next, I only remember Trivial Pursuit cards, Felix and chocolate stars… Hahaha. Then sometime around 5.30 I went to sleep because I didn’t want to be too tired when I started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the next day. (I was still tired when I started reading it, I got through the first 2 chapters then had a nap.)

We woke up the next morning had an equally yummy breakfast around lunchtime and then went home at about 1.00… All in all a good time was had by all especially me which is what counts because I’m writing this blog post.
