Swimming Sports!

So today we found out that geckoes can swim but dragons can’t.

The annual BDSC Swimming Sports is held at Papatoetoe Centennial Pools at the beginning of every year. This is a non-compulsory event is one of the many that determines who gets the whanau sheild with points being gained from both participation and placings which go toward house totals.

Last year Discovery totally rocked this, just beating Koru… However due to lack of participation on behalf of many of the whanau we were placed fourth with Koru gaining first. I must congratulate Koru in their amazing effort in the pool which saw them taking up a lot of the places in the finals, especially the girls’.

The placings were as follows (if I remember correctly and there were no screw ups with the recording):

-1st Koru
-2nd Britten
-3rd Endevour
-4th Discovery
-5th Blake
-6th Spirit

Big thanks also goes to all of those who helped out on the day including the teachers/Zak/Ludwig who had to take a day off teaching/learning in order to record times/organise kids poolside, head students who got to operate the megaphone/flags and to the pool guards at Pap pools especially Chubs. Lol!

It was fun day which will led many to have sore arms and legs, either from swimming to sunburn.
