Saturday

Wow, I must say that yesterday was one of the most JAM PACKED (yum) days ever!

First of all I was woken up by Docie singing it’s christmas time as it was our family’s early Christmas. We are spending Christmas in Malaysia this year which means that there won’t be no Christmas tree and no waking up early to unwrap presents on Christmas Day so we decided to do it yesterday. This meant that all of the presents had to be bought by Saturday… a deadline which not all of us made (Mum). The highlight of the morning was Docie opening her Sunbeam Dessert Maker which she was thrilled about. We finished making dessert in it this afternoon and our “sorbet” ending up not freezing properly and tasting like really sweet jam. Much too much water and sugar. It gives me a headache and gives Docie a sore tummy. I love all of my presents (tic tacs, sunnies, belt, nail polish, money)!!!

After this Genie and I acted as Bartenders at Barcamp Auckland which was organised by Ludwig and held at school in Britten. Ok, Barcamp isn’t a drinking weekend but a thing to do with computers. It’s a hard concept for most non-computer people to grasp, I didn’t really understand it until Ludwig explained it to me for the millionth time. I had heaps of fun… but was kinda bored during the sessions (which was the main point of the day really) but I don’t really know anything about computers anyway. I’m pretty sure that people got annoyed with some of the Bartenders (Heino, Zak, Genie, Felix, Becca, and me) because we were rather loud and we were all teens which means that they were pretty much annoyed with us anyway. Everyone agreed that food was great and venue was awesome but next time people want alcohol and sleepover. And we all thought they were adults. View photos here: www.flickr.com/zakhenry

After a quick shower and dinner I went over to Rebecca’s for dessert (which is always yummy) to say goodbye to Paula… To be honest I didn’t think I would cry at all but I did… a lot. I met her family as well who have come over to travel the South Island with Paula and then Australia and then back to Brazil. Sian was crying so much… I mean they are best friends and they pretty much spent everyday together for six months. Becca cried as well. The boys didn’t cry though. Felix is going soon… not that we knew until yesterday.

Holidays rocks!
