PRIZE GIVING!!! It was awesome. If I am every in need of an encouragement boost all I need to do is to think of prize giving. *sigh* Although I only walked away with two awards , English and French, I think that I gained the (…. uh….. I can’t think of the word. It’s something along the lines of encouragement….. you know what I mean……) to achieve all the goals that I have mentally set for myself.
I was seriously amazed at how much people can achieve at this age. 3 people were recognised for competing at an international level. INTERNATIONAL!!!!!!!!! Kate Shearer, the carrot-head who lives in red, Zak Henry and of course Merissa Smith . Kate Shearer has only been playing tennis for 6 years but already she’s competing at an international level AND has been offerred SCHOLARSHIP to play for an AMERCIAN college in Kansas!…. Zak has been to numerous competitions this year… My favourtie was the story ’bout how he got into it… hehe… awww little Henry coming back from camp all excited about archery. He has come like 2nd in NATIONAL competitions. WOO HOO for HENRY! Merissa wasn’t there to except her award because … um… i don’t know.. maybe because she’s in CHINA!!! She’s been globe-trotting, going to Argentina, Russia, Holland and now she’s in China (I think that I’ve forgotten a country). I’m Chinese and I haven’t been to China!
This was only half of why I loved prizegiving. The other half was finding out what everyone was getting awards for. We found out on Monday who was getting awards, we just didn’t know what for. I knew my awards were for French and English because they were used as examples in assembly…… and then Mrs Brinsdin read the list of all the winners, so it sounded like I was getting loads of awards…. hehe…. ANYWAY! Everytime we found out that one of our friends came first in a subject or got one of the secret prizes or got nominated for an award I got really excited!! I am soooo proud of ALL of my friends, if they awards or not. One of my favourite bits was finding out that Melody got the All-Rounder Girl Award Trophy/Carving-thing
YAY FOR MELODY!! Other highlights included Mona, Lavanya, Ludwig and Rebecca getting whanau distinction awards, watching the whanau slideshow/videos (I think that ours was the best), Ludwig getting onto the Academic Honour Roll for the third year in a row and watching Shae cringe next to the band while they played. Hahaha, Shae you are awesome!
I could write a whole lot more but I’m too tired to comprehend what I’m dictating ma handz 2 tipe owt….. SLEEP TIME and only 6 sleeps until my first exam!!!!!
