Hey everyone.
We are at Heathrow Airport now. Going home via K.L. OMG… more visa problems… Lutonia’s visa to get back into Auckland is expired and she might get stuck if we don’t get it fixed by the time we get to KL. She got an extension but it doesn’t come up on the network…
GAR!!!
life’s a hassle right now… I need to wash my face
Heathrow Airport is dirty and digusting…
Hey peoples. Well yesterday was our last day in Rouen and I totally didn’t get any decent photos of the city centre… STINK!!! Yesterday we had to do this survey thingy for class where we had to ask random people on the street about their holidays and honestly it was a pain at first because everyone was going somewhere BUT our teacher helped us with our first person: he stopped this chick who looked like Nicky Waston (including the chest). She was nice and answered all of our questions. The people who actually stopped for us were the kids from the local lycee and it made me think about how much I wanted to go to an actual lycee for a day and hang out with people my own age. They were all nice even if they were a tad hard to understand.
I bought some purple pants yesterday, THERE AWESOME!!!
AND a CD by a French band called BB Brunes. I heard they’re song on the radio over the last few days and I had wanted to get into some french music while I was over here. YAY!
I’m going to miss Collette and Rouen heaps. I love Rouen. I’m kinda glad that I didn’t stay longer just for the fact that the students that had stayed longer had gained a bit of weight; according to the messages I was reading in Collette’s student book. In my opinion, my message was definately the prettiest
This is the last time I get free internet SO there might not be many more posts after this cos I’ll have to pay for internet.
xoxo

Hey guys!!! I just changed the keyboard so it types like my one back home
No more annoyingness…
Well, what do I have to write about??? I’m full of bread right now. It’s 8.36am and I’m at the Alliance Francaise where we have our French lessons. Our teacher’s name is David. He’s pretty cool and ends all of his sentences with “ok” or “d’accord”. I think it’s because he has nothing else to say.
I totally wanna buy a Swatch watch… for two reasons: I need a watch and currently don’t have one. AND I have the money to go and buy a $NZ100 watch
YUSSSSSS!!!!!!! I love being able to buy whatever I want
I brought a $16 scarf yesterday. It’s pink and black and I love it! If you didn’t know, a lot of the things in France and I think in Europe in general in very expensive. Like it’s the same price but the exchange rate makes it different. Par exemple: a sandwich in Paris is, lets say 4.50 euros… and you’d pay about $4.50 in NZ right? But because the euro is twice what the $NZ is you are actually paying $9 for that sandwich… When we were in Giverny and I brought a $NZ10 Fanta. I’m keeping the bottle at that price… I didn’t realise it was that expensive and didn’t know how to say that I didn’t want it anymore…
this is the second time that im writing this because i just lost what i had written due to lack of knowledge on how to use french keyboards. dont expect this post to be grammatically correct cos i dont know where half the buttons are, as you can tell i have no idea where the apostrophe button is.
ANYWAY: thanks for the comments guys!!! to answer ur questions; no Anthony is not going to be

Im not sure bout how much it is to call but dont call me cos ive missed like the last three calls from home. GAR this computer is drving me spazz!!!!!!
*breathe* ok so my host family is Collette who is seventy three she is really really nice. its just me and her. i met her grnaddaughter yesterday marion who is my age and also^plays hockey
im going to stop there cos this compter is just too annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone!
Just a few quick things to tell you about!
-Yes Ludwig, we went to see the Arch de Triomphe yesterday but it was really windy and cold and because the people were striking it was like the only day that we couldn’t go up it, which was a shame. Then we walked down the Champs Elysees. It was windy as well and my feet were sore because it was the arvo and everyone was tired as well.
-my english in terms of writing has gotten real spaz
-We went to a college (junior high school) yesterday. I met Anthony (15) who is like my french counter part. We have heaps of things in common like playing the flute badly, not being able to talk chinese but being able to understand it and he has a vlog which is kinda different to a blog but you know. Dhurti wants us to get married but this is coming from a girl who wants to marry france and have french babies. Btw I don’t “like” him but I did think he was awesome.
-At the high school met a girl ( who is an actress) who looks exactly like Charlie off Ugly Betty. Like a total mini-Charlie.
-here’s my french fone number, just add the international french no. in front: 06 16 56 84 26
-Oh yeah and we’re moving to Rouen today and are going to stay with host fams!
lots of love
Novia!
Guess who people?! That’s right, I’M IN FRANCE!!! And it only cost an arm, a leg and a 12 hour unforseen stopover at LAX. I don’t know if you’ve heard but I’m not going to waste my 1,50 ($3) Euros to explain that.
What I did yesterday: Well yesterday was my first actual DAY in France (btw Paris is BEAUTIFUL!!!!). Lutonia, Genie, Mrs Knight and I arrived the previous day around 7ish and we were going back to the airport in the morning with Rene (Mrs McMillan’s father) to pick up our luggage that we hadn’t seen since Auckland. We took the RER and the Metro to get there… Btw I LOVE the Metro, especially taking it with Dhurti and the rest of our group… hahahaha carry capacity and population pyramids. ANYWAY so after the five of us running about the airport to find out bags for the second time in 24 hours we finally got a hold of them and went back to the MIJE (the youth hostel we are staying at.) Malheuresment we didn’t get to get changed because we had to go and buy sim cards… OOOOo I’ll come back and give you my number so you can text or call… if you wanna spend the money (10 hours behind btw so don’t call when I’m sleeping -.-)
So we grabed lunch after that which was the MOST cheawy/filling sandwhich I’ve EVER had, but it was really good. I still hadn’t gotten changed outta my clothes since Monday and because it was already Wed evening in NZ I’d spent 3 straight days in the same CLOTHES!!! Yes, I did feel disgusting. However I did get a shower when we got in.
So we meet up with the rest of the group after being allowed to shower and get changed and they got lunch. (They had gone to a senior high school which I’m TOTALLY jealous that I missed out on.) And after they got changed we took the very busy metro to …
THE EIFFEL TOWER!!!!
That’s right people, I’ve been up the Eiffel Tower and OMG… it was kinda freaky but AMAZING! We actually stopped over across the river to look at it from a distance… it was weird we were just walking along and then all of a sudden we turn this corner and we see THE EIFFEL TOWER in its GIANT AWESOMENESS. It was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen and completely blown away by it’s size, it’s much bigger than I imagined. It’s so windy up there too but I brought a ticket for all the way to the top because why come to the Eiffel Tower and not go all the way. It gives AMAZING views of the city… except I’m not quite sure how many decent photos I took… hmmm…
Well after that we went back and had dinner etc etc….
I only have a few seconds left… PUBLISH!
Lots of LOVE
NOVIA (in Paris)
Message for Nessa: Hey you left your jumper and t-shirt here, don’t worry I’ll try to remember to bring it to school tomorrow.
I want to go to weight training but don’t at the same time. I can’t even remember the last time I did any exercise which makes me feel really really really unfit and I can feel my body wouldn’t really appreciate me abusing it by making it do bicep curls. I want Becca to come, but I don’t think she will because of two reasons: 1.She was given one and a half weeks to do an essay that’s due in tomorrow 2.She still hasn’t started… if she doesn’t finish by tonight she won’t come to weight training so yeah. The main reason I want to go to weight training tomorrow is because I feel GROSS that I haven’t done anything.
I’m not excited. In fact I’m kinda not looking forward to it JUST because I’m going to miss everyone. I think for like the second time in my life I felt like I was actually missing someone… Let me explain this properly: Yesterday and today I was feeling sad that I wouldn’t be seeing my family for longest time EVER. I figured that because I was “missing” them yesterday when I was still in NZ I wouldn’t when I was in France, which is good because then I won’t be too sad. Another reason I’m not excited is because I have weight training which another thing that I have to do. You may ask “Well why don’t you just not go?” Right now that isn’t an option. I’m craving it at the moment even if my body isn’t. I also have to pack/check that my stuff. GAR. I need a shower.
Yay. ONLY 3 SLEEPS TO GO UNTIL I GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got our booklets today.
*leaves the room to get something* X5
I just left and returned and left the room again no less than 5 times… every time I got sidetracked about why I left and came back to find that I didn’t have what I was looking for.
Back to the France Trip: Well as soon as I left Chemistry I started jumping around and freaking out about two things: the fact that the internal was so easy (Rebecca was right) and I was freaking out about the fact that that was the VERY last period that I had before going to France. *gasp* EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back to the booklet thing. The booklet contains all of the contact information, intinerary, homework etc. and yeah it’s getting me excited… I don’t really know why I decided to bring the booklet up… Oh, it contains HEAPS of information about the things that we are going to see… for example:
The Arc de Triomphe: is a monument in Paris, France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l’Etoile. etc etc If I decide to do my documentary style video diary I might use this as interesting info.
OMG!!! GUESS WHAT?! I’m going to be on TV! Excitement… I’m going to be on Campbell Live tomorrow Thursday 10/04 at 7.00pm on TV3. Ryan, Rebecca and I were chosen to talk about education in New Zealand and how ethnicity and culture affects attitude towards it. All three of us were excited/nervous. Being interviewed looks like it’s such an easy job but it isn’t… especially when you’re talking about such an intense subject. Well maybe not intense… but it’s hard to think on the spot and appear to know what you’re talking about at the same time. I used “perspective” instead of “aspect”. The guy who interviewed us was Simon (someone) I can’t remember the last name, and the camera man/director was someone… I really can’t remember.
My ass is getting fatter! I just had a shower and I don’t know, my body seems to think that just because I’ve given up dragon boating it wants to put on weight!!!!!!!
:( :( :( I don’t want to be fat for France… holy cow, what if I don’t fit into my skinny jeans… HOLY COW, my ass is going to look HUGE in them! My bum used to look big in them because they make my legs look sooo skinny so by comparison my bum looks… I need to go to weight training next week. Well training finishes at 8 and I need to be at the airport at 10.30… I really want to go…. SO I will probably go to training and then hang out with my friends for a while in my gross training gear and then go home and have a shower. Yayness.
I think that this week just been was pretty.awesome. BECAUSE of the following:
-Sam’s party on Friday. It was fun and unlike most of the people I really enjoyed the music. I didn’t drink but I tasted almost all of Becca’s and Zak’s drinks. Some of them were disgusting and the rest were REALLY nice! Hahaha… Ginger Russian. Oh yeah, I gave Sam a polaroid of the Dragon Boating team from last week ‘cos he was our captain so I thought it would be a nice gift. Thanks to Lisa who was our taxi and took us all home safely <3
-Matthew’s party on Saturday. It was awesome, we went bowling, played buzz and took heaps of random as pictures. We played buzz the movie quiz and I got really into it and then I started losing… and then came like 3rd… which sucks. Shelly and Nessa won though. A whole bunch of us brought Matthew iPod speakers and I think Zak and Ludwig got him an FM transmitter for his iPod… so we got two different gifts that do the same thing: plays his iPod so everyone can hear it.
-My dad won the Tahiti tickets. It was Friday lunchtime and Mrs McMillan goes “Eugenia.” Then I shouted back “Novia.” (because we were standing quite a distance apart) and she said laughed or something I can’t remember and then she asked me what my dad’s name was and I’m like “Simon” and then she said that he won the tickets to Tahiti! Wowzers. That was pretty cool. They (my mum and dad) decided to give them to Brenda and Tom. I can’t wait because Baba (my dad) doesn’t get them until Wednesday and he has to take a photo… embarrassing. ANYWAY, um Brenda and Tom might stop over/ call and ask to see who won and I don’t want to tell them that we won and are giving them the tickets until we have them. GAR! Hopefully they won’t… I want it to be a GIANT surprise.
Perhaps I should change it to last three days as opposed to the last week because nothing really happened in the beginning of the week.
Oh yeah and Mum still isn’t letting me go to the Panic concert. Listening to them now but it’s not the same as a concert.
