What’s Up
We have a look at Subway Stage Challenge and Smokefree Rockquest. For tickets to Stage Challenge go to Ticketek to get your ticket and remember to rock up to Botany Downs Secondary College (575 Chapel Road) with $20 if you want to attend the Auckland East Regionals for Rockquest!.
We received one video response this week to our Would you rather?! question, from Josh (thanks Josh!) However, due to some Youtube weirdness, we weren’t able to download (or even watch) the clip when Ludwig needed it during editing because it was set to private and apparently Josh and 2DD weren’t “friends” (even though we are!) We’ll try next week!
We also received some email responses, remember if you don’t have a webcam then PLEASE send in email responses instead! Thanks Daniel, Jessica and Mike (we hope you don’t really have 3 restraining orders next to your name!)
That’s it for this episode of Second Draw Down, please tune again next week where we will be bringing you a behind the scenes look at Stage Challenge and (hopefully) similar insight on Rockquest!
The MTV Kickstart competition had the finals Friday night at the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village. Five bands which had been narrowed down from some two hundred, battled for a prize worth two hundred thousand dollars. The winners on the night were Clap Clap Riot.
Dunkin’ Donuts is accused of promoting terrorism!!! Take a look at this online ad with American TV personality, Rachel Ray, promoting iced latte. The offending item is the scarf, which reminded one blogger of the head-dress worn by Arab men, an item which a second blogger went so far to say that it was “jihadi chic”. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2008-05/39371400.jpg Dunkin’ Donuts had to pull the ad because people were pressing for a boycott. I might just go and buy a Dunkin’ Donut.
So what’s up with me at the moment? Well one thing is for sure, people’s parents had been busy during October because Melody and Steph both have their 18th birthday parties this long weekend which coincidently also happens to be Queen’s birthday weekend here in New Zealand.
Guess who has been chosen to participate in the Malaysian National Service??? ME! Training for the National Service involves 2 months of intense, physical, army-type training.
My Faves:
This week my fave is of the literary variety, it is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. The story follows the life of 17 yr old Isabella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks to live with her father and finds out that the quiet town doesn’t have just your average small town folk.
Would you rather?:
This is the point in the show where we get to share what YOU think? What’s inside that squidgy little brain of yours? Every month we ask you a very tough question and then for the next 3 weeks of that month we play your video responses on the show!
This month’s ‘Would you rather?’ “Would you rather fall in love and not be loved back, or never fall in love at all?”Upload your videos to Youtube or Vimeo (check the website for further instructions) and we might feature YOU over the next 3 weeks.
Questions:
If you lot have any questions about our show, me, our very single producer Ludwig or any suggestions about content then send us an email at feedback@seconddrawdown.com
